NAME
Tom Skukol

Since 2007 I am mainly a Dubstep DJ and producer, but I have a HipHop background and still rap & scratch in a band (BOHAI). I release bass music on different labels like Biggerdubz, SubTek, Basspräsidium, Enough Dubs and Subbass. There are a couple of different partys/crews in Bonn, Düsseldorf and Cologne I am involved in (BonnBetterKnow, Dubstep @ PVC, HVYW8S). I also started to produce other artists (check Darius Dareks´ EP). From time to time I relaunch my little radio/stream show Dubby_Terror_Show @ Make.TV.

Since my early teenager years I enjoyed to perform on a stage. In the 90s I was part of the Cologne based Kinderstunksitzung ensemble and played shows for hundreds of kids. During that time I discovered HipHop and started my first band. After beeing introduced to the magical world of DJing / turntablism in the late 90s I dreamt of becoming a DJ myself. For me it is a big pleasure to play music that I like to people and perfom music I create.. I also do my little part to keep vinyl alive. Basically music is my main energy resource!
WHAT / WHO INFLUENCES YOU?
I am happy to have had a great musical education by my father, who owns a great record collection and nowadays also sometimes spins wax. I get inspired by all kinds of music and listen to a lot of different genres. My main influences are probably artist-friends and people I collaborate with. It´s nice to be able to produce on my own, but I really enjoy to be creative in a group, too.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
My biggest goal in the past was to release a vinyl record, which I accomplished in 2009 with my buddys from Basspräsidium Records Cologne. Now I am just happy to have the opportunity to release music I produce. Another goal is to organise events with great artist, that don´t get enough recognition in my area. At the moment I also try to establish a new club night in my home town Bonn and record an album with my band. It is important to me to show good music & vinyl culture to the next generation. Each one teach one!
